BHABHUA (RNI) A shocking incident has come to light from Barej village on NH-19 in the Mohania police station area of the district. The same woman, whom the police had been dismissing as "runaway," was found two days later inside a blood-soaked sack in a room on the rooftop of her own house!
30-year-old Chandni Devi, wife of Prajapati Mishra, a resident of Jaruha in the Kudra police station area. She had been missing since Saturday. On Monday morning, while cleaning the house, a foul smell emanated from the rooftop room, and family members looked inside. A body was stuffed inside a plastic sack. Blood stains were also found in the room.
Prajapati Mishra, the husband, made serious allegations against the police: "I went to the police station and filed a complaint. I even provided my wife's mobile number. But instead of investigating, the police dismissed the matter, claiming she was of bad character and had run away. Today, that same wife has emerged from the sack as a corpse."
The big question is—is the police's job to abuse the victim, or to investigate? Had the police shown seriousness in time, Chandni might still be alive today.
After the incident, Mohania DSP Pradeep Kumar admitted, "The victim was murdered in her home and her body hidden in a sack. A post-mortem is underway, and the FSL team will investigate every aspect." But locals are asking—why did the police remain silent when the family members were screaming for help? Whose protection was this negligence? This incident has raised serious questions about the working style of the Kaimur police.
