MARRIED WOMAN KILLED FOR Rs. 10 LAKH AS DOWRY

ARA---------------------------One married woman was killed at Farana village under Badahara police station in Bhojpur village merely for Rs. 10 lakh and the body was disposed of to erase evidence. The deceased was identified as Sandhya Devi wife of Chandan Kumar Gupta of Chhapara village. An FIR was lodged with the police under Badahara police station in this regard on statement of Rajesh Kumar Gupta of Pirauta village under Ara Muffassil police station and brother of the deceased. Police are investigating the matter.

Quoting the FIR, SHO Badahara police station said that Sandhya was married to Chandan Kumar Gupta son of late Janki Sah of Chhapara Par village under Badahara police station in 2017. Since marriage, her husband Chandan Kumar Gupta, mother-in-law Sita Devi, uncle-in-law Virendra Kumar Gupta, his wife, uncle Rajendra Sah of Chhapra Par village tortured her physically and mentally merely for Rs. 10 lakh and she had informed him on mobile. He came to her sister’s in-laws house and tried to admonish them. But they again thrashed her on June 3, 2025. He again went there and persuaded them but they threatened me instead saying if their demand was not fulfilled, they would kill Sandhya. He returned home and he got information in the late evenin on June 7, 2025 all the in-laws along with10 other unnamed persons killed Sandhya and performed her list rite to earse evidence without informing the police.
