MAJOR RAIL ACCIDENT AVERTED IN BUXAR

BUXAR---------------------------A major rail accident was averted on Saturday evening on the Delhi-Howrah main railway line. During shunting near Purvi Gumti (Itadhi Gumti) near Buxar railway station, the engine of a goods train suddenly derailed. The accident occurred at around 5:45 pm, due to which rail operations on the down line came to a halt and there was panic among the passengers.

Eyewitnesses said that the goods train was undergoing shunting process, when suddenly a wheel of the engine derailed. Immediately after the incident, railway personnel reached the spot and started rescue work. During this time, traffic on the down line was completely affected, while the operation of trains on the up line continued normally.

The railway administration informed that there was no loss of life in this incident. ADN Buxar said that the work of repairing the affected track and bringing the engine back on track is going on at a war footing. The incident was immediately reported to Danapur division, after which the technical team reached the spot and started repair work.

The Delhi-Howrah railway line is one of the busiest and most important routes in the country. Thousands of passengers and goods trains travel on this route every day. Therefore, any technical flaw or accident can directly affect the operations and passengers.

Railway officials assured that every possible step is being taken keeping in mind the safety and convenience of the passengers. Soon the down line will be fully operational. This incident has once again highlighted the importance of technical safety and regular inspection of the railway track.
