LALIT NIBANDH IS A VERY POPULAR GENRE OF LITERATURE: ALOK RAJ

PATNA---------------------------Good essays not only attract readers, but also force intelligent readers to think. This is a very popular genre of literature. It also reveals the knowledge and language ability of the essayist.

These things were said by the Chairman of the State Staff Selection Commission and former Director General of Police, Alok Raj, while inaugurating the 'Essay Writing Competition' for students on Friday, the fifth day of the Hindi fortnight and 'Pustaka Chaudas Mela' organized at Bihar Hindi Sahitya Sammelan on the occasion of Hindi Day. He also remembered Sarvepalli Dr. Radha Krishnan with reverence on Teacher's Day and highlighted the importance of teachers.

The chief guest of the function and Chairman of Bihar Sanskrit Education Board, Mrityunjay Kumar Jha said that it is the teachers due to whom the Indian knowledge tradition is still alive. He also mentioned the features of essay literature and wished the participating students.

Presiding over the inaugural ceremony, the conference president Dr Anil Sulabh said that India is a nation that believes in the Guru tradition and here Gurus have been respected since ancient times and will continue to be respected till eternity. Here Guru has a higher place than God. In India, there are only three institutions namely mother, father and teacher who are happy to see their disciples and progeny going ahead of them. The rest are jealous. He also showed the students the ways to write meaningful and readable essays.

The participating students wrote very pithy and beautiful essays on the topic 'My favourite teacher'. They were given 40 minutes to write them. The participants securing the first three positions among these will be awarded prize money of Rs. 1100, Rs. 700 and Rs. 500 respectively along with a certificate and medal.

On this occasion, Vice President of the conference Dr. Madhu Verma, Dr. Kalyani Kusum Singh, poetess Aradhana Prasad, senior litterateur Bachcha Thakur, Convener of the Competition Organizing Committee Mr. Ashok Kumar, Krishnaranjan Singh, Dr. Om Prakash Pandey, Dr. Sushma Kumari, Priyanka Priya, Isha Kumari and participating students were present. Many guests including Alok Raj and book lovers purchased books from the book fair. Tomorrow evening a story workshop will be organized.
