BHABHUA-------------------------A meeting of the Farmers Union was held at Kulhadiyan Mor, where the farmers' crops were completely destroyed due to heavy rains on October 3rd and 4th, 2025, as well as the flow of water from the mountains into the plains and the release of water from dams. Following this discussion, the Chief Minister wrote in a letter addressed to the Chief Minister, in the interest of farmers, that thousands of acres of paddy crops in the Durgawati Block of Kaimur, including Nuaon Panchayat, Chhaon Panchayat, and Khamidaura Panchayat, have been submerged. Along with this, paddy and other crops in all the blocks of Chand, Chainpur, Nuaon, Ramgarh, Bhabua, Mohaniya, Bhagwanpur, as well as in Rohtas and several districts of Bihar, have also been submerged. Due to this terrible tragedy, the livelihood of the farmers has been affected. In the coming times, when the farmers will not get the profit from the crop, then they will arrange for their livelihood by taking loan. The farmer who will not get the loan will commit suicide or due to taking loan, the farmer will be set back by many years. Kaimur Kisan Union said through the letter that the Raiyat farmers whose crops have been damaged should be identified by the employees, farmer advisors, ward members, Agambadi Sevika and the non-Raiyat farmers who have cultivated someone's land by taking land revenue should be identified and their panchnama should be made and the payment should be made to the farmer who cultivated it. It has been demanded that the payment should be made according to the plot area and the amount should be paid as per today's rates considering inflation, and not as a drop in the ocean. The Kaimur Kisan Union has sent a letter to the Chief Minister of Bihar, as well as the Agriculture Minister of Bihar, the Chief Secretary of Bihar, the Agriculture Secretary of Bihar, the District Magistrate of Kaimur, Rohtas, and the District Agriculture Magistrate of Kaimur, Rohtas. Through this letter, the Kaimur Kisan Union has demanded that the compensation for the loss of crops of the farmers should be given as per the current inflation rate, which is approximately ₹35,000.00 to ₹40,000.00 per acre.
Kaimur Kisan Union President Hariji Singh appealed to the farmers that all farmers should submit applications with details for crop compensation in their respective blocks, submit them to the Block Development Officer's office, and obtain a receipt, and also post a copy of the same on the Kaimur Kisan Union's WhatsApp group. He became emotional while expressing the pain of the farmers. Founding member Birla Singh said, "We demand that the government implement crop insurance in Bihar as soon as possible so that the insurance company can compensate farmers for their crop losses in such a terrible tragedy." Farmers present at the meeting included Vikas Singh, Dheeraj Singh, Ravindra Yadav, Birla Singh, Sandeep Singh, Raja Yadav, Pappu Ram, Chandra Prakash Singh, Bindu Pandey, Rajesh Pandey, and others.
