BHABHUA-------------------------------Kaimur district administration has made it clear that obstruction in the Bharatmala (Varanasi–Kolkata Greenfield Expressway) project will not be tolerated at any cost. The administration has warned that legal action is being taken against those who gather crowds at the work site and protest or sit on dharna. In many cases, punitive action has been taken and the culprits have also been released on bond in view of the possibility of breach of peace.
The administration said that the construction work in the Uttar Pradesh section has progressed a lot, while the work is in progress in Bhabua, Chainpur, Birna and Karwandiya areas of Kaimur district. The administration had to intervene on the unnecessary protest of some landowners in Siroha Mauja of Chainpur zone. The special thing is that many such people were also found involved in the protest who have already received compensation.
The District Land Acquisition Officer said that in the light of the order of the Arbitrator cum Commissioner Court, double compensation is being given to the eligible landholders. For this, the zonal officers and revenue personnel have appealed to apply by going door to door several times and LPC and genealogy have been issued in Maujewar camps. Despite this, some so-called people are misleading the farmers that the compensation will increase further, whereas no such system is available after arbitration.
The administration has also clarified that after the 3D notification, the land has come under the ownership of the state and mutation of many Khata-Khesra has been done in the name of NHAI. In such a situation, planting crops or farming on the acquired land is against the rules. For the last four months, farmers have been warned continuously through mikeing, press release and public information.
The Sub-Divisional Officer said, “The way to the court is open for the resolution of reasonable demands, but taking the law in one's hands at the workplace is a criminal act. Strict action will be taken against the culprits.”
The district administration has appealed to the public that all landholders should submit the necessary documents (LPC, genealogy, bank details) and get compensation as soon as possible and should not fall prey to any misleading information or provocation. The administration clarified that there is no such system as “one road – one compensation”, rather compensation will be given as per the circle rate and legal provisions.
