BUXAR---------------------------Jeevika, which has become a driving force for the social and economic empowerment of women in the rural areas of the district, is now continuously working to create employment opportunities for young people and brighten their future. In this regard, Jeevika Buxar Sadar block organized an employment-cum-guidance fair at the Qila Maidan complex under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY).

The employment fair was inaugurated jointly by the chief guest Niharika Chhavi, IAS, Deputy Development Commissioner and In-charge District Magistrate, Buxar, District Project Manager Jeevika Dayanidhi Chaubey, and Jeevika members by lighting the lamp. A total of 15 reputed companies set up their stalls at this fair.

A total of 909 young people registered at the employment fair, out of which 220 were primarily selected by various companies. 285 young people registered online for employment, and 210 young people enrolled for self-employment and skill training under DDU-GKY. On this occasion, Deputy Development Commissioner and In-charge District Magistrate Niharika Chhavi said that Jeevika has brought awareness among women and the benefits of government schemes are reaching the grassroots level. This effort by Jeevika to connect young people with employment is highly commendable. She appealed to the youth to take maximum advantage of such opportunities and avail of free training and employment under DDU-GKY. During this time, she also recited an inspiring poem and thanked everyone for the event.

District Project Manager Dayanidhi Chaubey said that continuous efforts are being made to increase the income of families associated with Jeevika. Providing employment to the unemployed children of Jeevika members through skill development is the main objective of this scheme. Employment Manager Bholenath Pandey informed that 220 young people were selected by 15 companies at the fair, and appointment letters were given to the selected candidates on the spot. Fifteen companies participated in the job fair, including Tata Motors (Automobiles), 2 Comms Consultancy, Amdhane Private Limited, Ecom Express (Blinkit), Team Royal, Larsen & Toubro (L&T), Utkarsh Small Microfinance Bank, Youth 4 Job Foundation, Zomato, Vision India, ASEC, SIS Security Private Limited, Navbharat Fertilizer, Shivshakti, and Young Brand Apparel Private Limited. Selected candidates will be offered salaries commensurate with their positions, along with other benefits as per company policies.

The event was attended by DPRO Amit Kumar, DRDA Director Arvind Singh, NEP Director Prashant Kumar, all thematic managers from the Jeevika district office, block-level staff, Jeevika cadres, Jeevika women's self-help group members, and a large number of young people.
