BHABHUA----------------------The Adivasi community in the district started a massive and indefinite Dharna for restoration of their constitutional rights. Thousands of Adivasi women, men, youth and students are raising their voices unitedly in this Dharna organized at the District HQ. This protest is a peaceful but determined movement against the Adivasi rights allegedly snatched by the Government of Bihar and the Government of India. The organizers of the Dharna while addressing the gathering alleged that the rights of Adivasis are being violated by the Government in an unconstitutional manner. They had called upon all the tribal communities settled on the Kaimur hills to reach the District HQ in thousands and make this massive conference a success, and their appeal had a wide impact-

A huge crowd of Adivasis from all over the district has gathered to fight for their rights. The organizers emphasized that the tribal community is committed to protecting its traditional land rights, water, forest and life rights, which are constantly under threat. Many important demands are being raised in this indefinite Mahasammelan, among which the right to education and issues related to their cultural identity are prominent. The tribal community says that they are not getting enough opportunities for education, due to which their younger generation is lagging behind in the race of development. Along with this, their unique cultural identity and traditions are constantly being ignored, which has caused deep dissatisfaction in the community. A tribal leader said, "We want to preserve our culture and language. The government should recognize our identity and take steps to protect it." With this sit-in demonstration, the tribals hope that the government will pay serious attention to their demands and restore their constitutional rights. The protesters have made it clear that this indefinite movement will continue until their demands are met. If sources are to be believed, then seeing the Bihar assembly elections coming near, they are being confused by political parties to get the votes of the tribal society and it is always done. Many schemes are being run by the government for the conservation of water and forests. But when we look at their traditional lifestyle, in search of modernity, they are losing their traditions by adopting Christianity for the greed of a few rupees.
