The raid was conducted under the leadership of Excise Inspector Kundan Kumar.

When the excise team searched his car, BR 01 BG 2751, they recovered liquor bottles from inside a bag, after which the police arrested both of them. The Excise Inspector said that Ravi had previously been caught smuggling liquor while posing as a fake sub-inspector in Ara and Patna. An FIR has been registered against both of them under the Excise Act, and they have been sent to jail.
