ARA----------------------“Some people just live life, and some people live to save the lives of others. Every doctor wearing a white coat is not just a professional, he is another name for hope, courage and humanity.
In this profession, saving the breath of an unknown person is more important than sleep, rest and personal life. This is the story of a doctor who lived his dreams in the heartbeats of others, and dedicated himself to every patient to the fullest.”
Dr. Ranjit Kumar Singh, a resident of Bhojpur, is an example of tough struggle and indomitable courage. It is every doctor’s dream to make a career as a neurologist in a prestigious institute like AIIMS Delhi, but after fulfilling this dream, Dr. Ranjit left it and made it his duty to serve the soil of Bihar.
Born in a small village in Bhojpur district, Dr. Ranjit did his early education here. Topper in studies since childhood and imbued with a spirit of service, he overcame tough competition for medical studies and took admission in AIIMS, Delhi. Here he not only completed his studies but also won a gold medal in Neurology.
Leaving behind a bright career in Delhi and the facilities of big hospitals, he established Patliputra Neuro Care in his home district Ara. His aim was to provide the same modern treatment to the patients of Bihar which is available in big cities like Delhi, Mumbai.
Dr. Ranjit took many new initiatives in the field of neurology in Bhojpur. He started modern techniques like Stroke Thrombolysis and Botox treatment at the district level. His efforts are benefiting not only the patients of Ara but also the patients of the surrounding districts.
He is also associated with social concerns. Organizing awareness camps on epilepsy, stroke and neurological diseases, giving free consultation in rural areas and treating poor patients free of cost are his identity.
Dr. Ranjit believes that real satisfaction comes when you give back to your roots. He says, “AIIMS may have a big name and career, but when people from your village bless you, it is unmatched.”
Today he is a source of inspiration for the youth and medical students of Bihar. He believes that if expert doctors serve in small towns and villages, Bihar’s health system can change a lot.
Dr. Ranjit’s story is proof that willpower and dedication not only lead to personal success, but can also bring about a big change in society.
