FIRE IN SEMINAR HALL OF MM COLLEGE, BIKRAM

PATNA--------------------------A massive fire broke out in the seminar hall of MM College located in Bikram Nagar Panchayat area on Thursday morning. The fire engulfed the seminar hall in a short time, due to which property worth lakhs of rupees was burnt to ashes. When the local people saw smoke rising from the college campus early in the morning, they immediately informed the Bikram police station.

As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and the fire brigade was alerted. Initially, the first fire engine fell victim to technical fault, due to which there was some delay in extinguishing the fire, but after calling additional fire engines from Paliganj, the fire was brought under control after about three hours of hard work.

College Principal Prof. Awadhesh Yadav suspected that the cause of the fire could be a short circuit. He said that four ACs, a projector, audio system, precious furniture and other important equipment installed in the seminar hall were burnt to ashes due to the fire. The exact assessment of the loss could not be done at the moment, but it is estimated that the damage is in lakhs.

The principal said that as soon as the news of the fire was received, college employees Raju Singh, Ramesh Pandey and other staff reached the spot. Due to the promptness of the police, fire brigade and villagers, the fire was controlled in time, otherwise a large part of the college could have been engulfed by it.

The local administration is investigating the incident and it is being said that security measures will be strengthened in the college campus to prevent such incidents in future
