FAKE GAME OF FLOOD RELIEF MONEY IN BHOJPUR

ARA---------------------------The relief amount of ₹ 7000 announced by the government in flood affected areas is aimed at providing help only to those families whose houses were flooded, whose daily life was affected and who faced serious problems of food, health and shelter. But it is unfortunate that in many areas including Bhojpur, this scheme is not able to reach its real beneficiaries completely.
The irony is that those whose houses were not flooded are running around the most for relief money. On the other hand, the real victims – whose house, food grains, clothes and essential goods were destroyed – are being deprived of the benefits due to the complexities of the process and fraud.
Those who really need this relief are not getting the money. Those who are not affected are taking money on the basis of false claims. The local administration and panchayat level should go door-to-door to assess the actual loss.
The common people of the village should also help in identifying fake claimants. FIR should be registered against those who took money fraudulently and the amount should be recovered.
The aim of the government scheme is to reduce suffering, not to fill the pockets of fake people. If correct identification and strict action is ensured, only then will real relief reach the flood victims. This message should go not only in Bhojpur but in the entire Bihar that relief money is the right of the needy, not a game of fraud.
