EVEN THE STAFF HAD NOT WIND OF JAGDEEP DHANKAR’S RESIGNATION

DELHI----------------------Even the staff was not aware of Jagdeep Dhankhar's resignation, the opposition was present in the meeting with the Vice President on Monday evening but the BJP President was not. Desk: Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar's resignation on Monday night surprised everyone. Even his staff was not aware that Dhankhar would resign, he directly resigned. Everyone was surprised by his leaving the post of Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha. The opposition demands that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should persuade Dhankhar. Dhankhar's tenure still had two years left, he became the third President of the country to resign in the middle of the tenure. On Monday, Dhankhar's staff was issuing a press release about his plans for the coming days. This included meeting with the leaders of the parties to meeting with the real estate developers of Rajasthan on Wednesday. Experts in the matter say that Dhankhar himself led three meetings before the announcement. Experts also say that the chances of Dhankhar forwarding his resignation without discussing with senior officials are very low. However, nothing has been said officially about this. These included meeting floor leaders before the session and two rounds of meetings with the Business Advisory Committee in the afternoon. There was nothing to indicate that Dhankhar was planning to resign. Apart from this, he also chaired the Rajya Sabha. At 3:53 pm, his staff issued a statement regarding the upcoming meeting with real estate developers in Jaipur. At 4:07 pm, Dhankhar discussed the signatures received for impeachment against Justice Yashwant Verma.

The entire opposition was with the Vice President in the Business Advisory Committee meeting on Monday evening, but J P Nadda and the Parliamentary Affairs Minister did not come from the BJP. Dhankhar was calling the committee for lunch on Tuesday. This was around 4 pm. And a few hours later he resigned.

Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh wrote, 'The sudden resignation of the Vice President and the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha is as shocking as it is incomprehensible. I was with him till about 5 pm today along with several other MPs and spoke to him on the phone at 7.30 pm.' He said, 'There is no doubt that Dhankhar will have to give top priority to his health, but clearly there is more to his completely unexpected resignation than what is visible. However, this is not the time for speculation.' Ramesh said, 'Dhankhar took on both the government and the opposition alike. He had scheduled a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee at 1 pm on Tuesday. He was also going to make some big announcements related to the judiciary tomorrow.' The Congress General Secretary said, 'We wish him good health, but also request him to reconsider his decision. We also hope that Prime Minister Modi will persuade Dhankhar to change his mind. This will be in the national interest. Especially the farming community will get a lot of relief.'
