Drones will now be used to prevent illegal sand mining through boats and other means in the upcoming rainy season. Video footage and photo clips of illegal sand mining mafias will also be taken out from drones. The police-administration conducted a trial on Tuesday regarding this.
On the instructions of Superintendent of Police Raj, action was taken by the Koilwar Police Station Head and District Mining Officer in the Son River area under Koilwar Police Station to keep surveillance through drones to prevent illegal sand mining through boats and other means in the upcoming rainy season.
In this sequence, the drone was flown on both sides of the Koilwar Bridge and the possible sites of illegal mining were inspected. During the closed period of sand mining, continuous monitoring will be done through drones in the entire river area. This latest technology will prove to be very effective in establishing effective control over illegal sand mining, along with this, it will also facilitate in identification and action against the machines, vehicles and people involved in illegal mining.
Let us tell you that during the rainy season, sand mafias keep excavating illegal sand in Son with the help of big boats. Even the police was not able to get a clue of this act of sand mafia in the remote Diara area. In such a situation, surveillance through drones will prove to be effective for the police.
