Dr. ANUBHA PATHK URGED TO WORK CAUTIOUSLY
The ICAR-National Institute of High-Security Animal Diseases, Bhopal, and Nayi Asha organized a one-day workshop at Chairai Mangal Bhavan in the Udwantnagar block. The workshop was jointly inaugurated by scientist Dr. Anubha Pathak, Padma Shri Dr. Bhim Singh Bhavesh, and Dr. Anil Kumar, in-charge physician at the Udwantnagar Community Health Center.
ARA (RNI) The ICAR-National Institute of High-Security Animal Diseases, Bhopal, and Nayi Asha organized a one-day workshop at Chairai Mangal Bhavan in the Udwantnagar block. The workshop was jointly inaugurated by scientist Dr. Anubha Pathak, Padma Shri Dr. Bhim Singh Bhavesh, and Dr. Anil Kumar, in-charge physician at the Udwantnagar Community Health Center. Detailed information on zoonotic diseases, i.e., diseases transmitted from animals to humans, was provided. A questionnaire was also used to engage with attendees. A lecture on the causes, transmission, and prevention of animal-borne diseases, such as tuberculosis (TB), Japanese encephalitis, plague, leptospirosis, brucellosis, and scrub typhus, was conducted for 50 young and educated members of the Musahar community. Knowledge gains were assessed through a pre-test and a post-test. All trainees were provided with training kits, and certificates were distributed as incentives at the conclusion of the workshop. The workshop was organized by Dr. Anubha Pathak, Scientist Secretary, under the chairmanship of the Director, ICAR-NIHSAD, along with other team members, Dr. Nikhita Pendam (MVSC Scholar, IVRI), Pooja Jaiswar (YP-11), and Vikram Ki Gaur (YP-11). Addressing the workshop, organized under the Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan, Dr. Anubha Pathak stated that people living with animals and working in the fields are vulnerable to many diseases that they may not be aware of. Such diseases can be prevented through awareness. She emphasized that extreme caution should be exercised when handling a dead calf during the delivery of a cow or goat. People working in paddy fields should also exercise caution. Dr. Pathak provided detailed information on the prevention and control of diseases transmitted by various animals. Dr. Anil Kumar spoke about cleanliness and the importance of immediately visiting the nearest health center if any symptoms of illness are noticed. Kundan Kumar, District Coordinator of Nayi Asha, conducted the program and Jai Prakash Das delivered the vote of thanks.
