DOUBLE POST-MORTEM CONDUCTED ON A DECEASED PERSON

BHABHUA--------------------------A strange incident has come to light at Sadar Hospital, where a deceased person was subjected to two post-mortems. Furthermore, a bid is also made for the deceased's family to pay. If the family expresses their inability to pay, their family's post-mortem is not conducted.

This dark truth about Bhabua Sadar Hospital came to light on Monday when Mukesh Kumar, a young man, was chased by the Syedaraja police in Uttar Pradesh in connection with a cow smuggling case, and fled into Bihar. He was beaten by the police, leaving him injured in Karmanasha, under the Durgawati police station area. Police immediately brought him to Bhabua Sadar Hospital, where he died during treatment.

The deceased is said to be Mukesh Ram, son of Siran Ram, of Baburahan village, under the Chainpur police station. When the post-mortem was conducted, the police asked the doctor for the report. The doctor performed the post-mortem a second time and demanded two thousand rupees for the second post-mortem. After this, the deceased's family created a ruckus. The post-mortem was conducted for only two thousand rupees.

Regarding the matter, Bhabhua Civil Surgeon Rajeshwari Rajak stated that the matter has come to their notice and action will be taken after investigation. The question now is: why was the deceased subjected to two post-mortems? When the government funds provide 500 rupees for post-mortems, is the person performing the post-mortem being charged two thousand rupees? Therefore, only after an investigation will it be known why the post-mortem was conducted twice and why the money was charged.
