ARA------------------------A review meeting was held with all the Electoral Registration Officers and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers-cum-Block Development Officers on the continuous update of the electoral list, the upcoming Bihar Legislative Assembly General Election 2025 and various topics related to the election under the chairmanship of District Election Officer-cum-District Magistrate Tanay Sultania in the Collectorate Auditorium on Saturday.

During the meeting, the District Election Officer directed that during the continuous update period of the electoral list, registration of all eligible citizens in the electoral list should be ensured. Especially for the expected improvement in the female sex ratio, registration of eligible women should be done with priority.

It is known that under the special campaign going on after the last publication, 40,441 women have been registered so far, due to which the sex ratio of the district has become 907, which is in line with the population sex ratio of the district. He also directed that the names of duplicate entries in the electoral list, permanently transferred and dead voters should be deleted as per rules by conducting physical verification through BLO.

100% login by BLOs on BLO app should be ensured and regular meetings should be held with BLOs and their supervisors. Also, all the Electoral Registration Officers were directed to ensure monthly meetings with recognized national and state level political parties.

The District Election Officer directed to get the voters above 90 years of age verified by BLO and delete the names of dead persons and take action for amendment for age correction if required. He also directed to prepare a polling station-wise action plan to increase the voting percentage in view of the upcoming Bihar Legislative Assembly General Election 2025.

The officers were directed to thoroughly study all the updated PPTs, training materials, handbooks, manuals, Representation of People Act and election conduct rules available on the Election Commission website related to the election.

Apart from this, instructions were given to take necessary action by doing physical verification to ensure availability of basic facilities for voters at polling stations and to review the centers where voting was boycotted in previous elections and take corrective steps according to the reasons.

Finally, necessary instructions were given to all Electoral Registration Officers, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers and other concerned officers to ensure timely and effective execution of all works related to the election.

Deputy Development Commissioner Bhojpur, Dr. Anupama Singh, Deputy Election Officer Bhojpur, all Electoral Registration Officers, Sub-Election Officers (Ara Sadar, Jagdishpur) and other concerned officers were present in this meeting.
