As part of the public awareness campaign for crop residue management, organized by the Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Rohtas, a mobile awareness chariot equipped with technical information and audio messages related to crop residue management was flagged off by District Magistrate Udita Singh and Deputy Development Commissioner Vijay Kumar Pandey for dissemination in all 14 blocks of the district.

SASARAM-----------------------As part of the public awareness campaign for crop residue management, organized by the Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Rohtas, a mobile awareness chariot equipped with technical information and audio messages related to crop residue management was flagged off by District Magistrate Udita Singh and Deputy Development Commissioner Vijay Kumar Pandey for dissemination in all 14 blocks of the district. The objective of this chariot is to create awareness among the general public in the blocks about the harmful effects of burning crop residue (stubble). The chariot also displays contact information for special custom hiring centers and progressive farmers in the respective blocks who have subsidized equipment for crop residue management, such as straw balers and other implements, to assist farmers. The chariot will also raise awareness about the adverse effects of burning crop residue on crops and human health. The administration has also provisioned for punitive action against farmers who burn stubble. Farmers found guilty will not only face action but will also be deprived of all types of government subsidies. District Agriculture Officer Prabhakar Kumar, Deputy Project Directors Santosh Kumar and Devendra Singh, and Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer Giriraj Kumar were present on the occasion.
