DAK BUNGLOW IS FILLED WITH FILTH AND GARBAGE

BHABHUA---------------------------Located on the banks of the Durgavati River in the district, the British-era Dak Bungalow not only enhanced the beauty of Durgavati but also served as an excellent place for visiting politicians, officials, and tourists. Adorned with colorful flowers and Ashoka trees, this Dak Bungalow attracted passersby on the National Highway passing through Durgavati Bazaar. Inside, the two-story building boasted sofas and Jharkhandi chairs, and newspaper copies on tables, with open windows facing the river, adding to the splendor of the Dak Bungalow. Mosquito nets and rosewood beds provided comfort for travelers and officials. However, due to some parts being moved into the boundary wall during the construction of the National Highway, it is losing its identity. Passers-by visiting Durgawati Bazaar used to relax under the shade of trees in the Dak Bungalow complex. However, today, vegetable vendors, fruit vendors, and residents of Durgawati Bazaar dump their garbage in the remaining grounds, creating a foul stench. Whether it's the area adjacent to the Durga Temple complex, the western edge of the Durgawati River bank, the eastern edge, and other parts of the market, the stench remains due to the scattered garbage. The Prime Minister's Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (cleanliness campaign) had raised hopes, but it has vanished. Now, it remains to be seen whether the new government in Bihar will revive the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan or leave the streets and squares of the villages and cities strewn with garbage, giving rise to numerous incurable diseases.
