CRIMINALS IN BIHAR WILL NO LONGER ABLE TO ESCAPE
-Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has been serious about controlling crime from the very beginning. Immediately after assuming power in November 2005, he first established the rule of law in Bihar and adopted a policy of 'zero tolerance' towards crime. PATNA-----------------------Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has been serious about controlling crime from the very beginning. Immediately after assuming power in November 2005, he first established the rule of law in Bihar and adopted a policy of 'zero tolerance' towards crime. Before 2005, crime, especially organized crime, was rampant in Bihar, often with political patronage. Kidnapping had become an industry, severely damaging Bihar's image. However, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar brought criminals under control through fast-track courts, improved policing, modern investigative resources, and other measures, forcing them to flee the state.
It was this control over crime that later earned Chief Minister Nitish Kumar the image of a "good governance leader." In this new era, the Nitish government has launched a new initiative for better policing and quick, modern, and scientific investigation of crimes. Now, mobile forensic vans will be used to crack down on crime and criminals in the state.
