BUXAR--------------------------Under the Chief Minister's Women's Employment Scheme, a program held in the auditorium of the Buxar District Collectorate complex on Friday saw Chief Minister Nitish Kumar transfer a total of ₹1,000 crore to 10 lakh women beneficiaries at the rate of ₹10,000 per beneficiary, live broadcast. The scheme was launched on September 26, 2025, by the Prime Minister and in the presence of the Chief Minister.

The scheme aims to provide financial assistance to one woman from every family in the state to start a business. Women from all communities and classes can avail of this scheme. ₹10,000 is being provided as an initial assistance, while additional assistance of up to ₹2 lakh is available based on assessment of further needs. Training facilities will also be provided for preferred employment.

This scheme is community-based, linking beneficiary women with local self-help groups (SHGs). SHGs are actively involved in job selection, training, production, and sales. Markets will also be developed from villages to cities to sell women's products.

It was reported at the event that a total of ₹14,05,70,000 has been transferred to 14,057 Jeevika Didis in Buxar district, at a rate of ₹10,000 per beneficiary. To date, 1,92,963 women in the district have benefited from this scheme.

Officials expressed hope that this scheme, which promotes women's empowerment, entrepreneurship, and self-reliance, will play a significant role in the rural economy and the state's development.
