DELHI----------------------------Delhi's Patiala House Court has sent Chaitanyananda Saraswati, arrested on charges of indecent behavior with female students of a private college, to five days of police custody. Chaitanyananda Saraswati was produced in court today, after which the court ordered his remand in police custody.

Delhi Police presented Saraswati and requested five days of custody from the court. Delhi Police stated that custodial interrogation of Saraswati was necessary because the conspiracy behind the entire incident was yet to be revealed. Chaitanyananda Saraswati was arrested in Agra.

Chaitanyananda Saraswati is accused of engaging in indecent behavior with female students from economically weaker sections. Chaitanyananda Saraswati had access to the college's CCTV cameras to keep an eye on them. He deliberately installed CCTV cameras near the washrooms under the guise of security.

In addition to engaging in indecent behavior with female students, Saraswati is also accused of financial fraud. It is alleged that Saraswati leased the institute's properties to private companies. He used the institute's assets to purchase expensive vehicles. Police seized a BMW from his possession. He would take girls in expensive vehicles and engage in indecent behavior with them.

On September 26, the Patiala House Court rejected Chaitanyananda Saraswati's anticipatory bail plea in the FIR registered regarding the transfer of property to a trust. The court stated that the investigation was still in its preliminary stages and that the police needed to interrogate the accused in custody to uncover the fraud and conspiracy. The court noted the investigating officer's observation that Chaitanyananda Saraswati was unavailable at his given address and his mobile phone was switched off.

In the financial fraud case, Chaitanyananda Saraswati is accused of creating a fake trust called Sri Sharada Institute of Indian Management Research Foundation after obtaining power of attorney. Under this trust, the accused transferred the assets of the Sri Sharada Institute of Management Research to the trust. Chaitanyananda Swami is accused of withdrawing approximately ₹50-55 lakh from a Yes Bank account in the name of the trust after the FIR was registered at the Vasant Kunj police station. Chaitanyananda Swami is also accused of obtaining two passports in different names using forged documents and maintaining accounts in several banks under different names.
