He is not a resident of the Dumraon assembly constituency. Instead, he is a resident of Dharili village, which also falls within the Brahmapur block. The LJP has fielded Hulas Pandey from the Brahmapur seat. He is a resident of Daimiya town in Rohtas district. Santosh Nirala, who has consistently won the Rajpur assembly constituency, is also a resident of Chunni Milki village in Chaisa block. Consequently, resentment is growing among local workers that they are being sidelined. Rumors are rife that Rahul Singh joined the JDU just minutes before receiving the ticket.
