Criminals have devised a new method of robbery and snatching. After conversing on a dating app and inviting people to meet, they are snatching money and mobile phones from them. A similar incident has come to light in the Nawada police station area. A teacher from Jharkhand was called on the pretext of meeting, beaten up, and robbed of ten thousand rupees. The incident occurred on Monday in the Anaith-Jagdev Nagar area.
Acting swiftly, police have arrested five criminals in this case. One is from Sahar, one from Bihiya, and three from Jagdev Nagar. Based on the statement of the victim, teacher Amar Kumar, an FIR has been registered against eight to ten unidentified criminals.
Teacher Amar Kumar is posted at a Plus Two High School in Ekwari village, Sahar block, and lives in a rented house in the Anaith neighborhood of the Nawada police station area. In the FIR, the teacher states that on September 22nd, she began communicating with a boy through a social media dating app. He then invited her to meet him. Initially, she refused, but due to the boy's insistence, she agreed.
At around four in the evening, the boy took her on his bike, promising to take her to his room. However, he took her to a forested area along the railway line, well beyond Jagdev Nagar. His other companions arrived there and, inquiring about the dating app, snatched her mobile phone. She was assaulted and subjected to abusive language. A demand for twenty thousand rupees was made. Later, she was released after receiving ten thousand rupees. After the incident came to light, police arrested five accused.
