ARA-------------------------------The Bihar State Non-Gazetted Employees Federation, Bhojpur, organized a sit-in and demonstration in front of the District Collectorate, demanding the cancellation of the old pension scheme, unconditional regularization of contractual daily wage employees, regular recruitment to vacant posts, and the release of 18 months' pending dearness allowance installments.
It should be noted that, at the call of the All India State Government Employees Federation, protests were held today at all district headquarters across the country regarding the 11-point demands. In light of this decision, an angry demonstration was held at the Bhojpur District Headquarters under the leadership of District President Manoj Srivastava and District Minister Vinod Yadav, as per the State Federation's decision. Hundreds of employees from across the district participated in the demonstration.
Addressing the protesters, the Federation's State General Secretary, Subhash Singh, stated that the employees' 11-point demands are justified. Even nine months after the Central Pay Commission was approved, the commission has not been formally constituted. Across the country, over 20 million vacant posts, including central and state government offices, are being filled through contract-based recruitment, not regular recruitment.
On one hand, MPs and MLAs, members of the judicial service and the Indian Army are receiving the benefits of the old pension system, but employees who serve the public until the age of 60 are not receiving pension benefits. This is blatant injustice, and workers across the country are outraged by this. If the government does not listen to us in the coming days, a major national movement will be launched.
On this occasion, a memorandum containing an 11-point demand letter was submitted to the Honorable Prime Minister of India through the District Magistrate, requesting resolution of the problems. A large number of employees including Kundan Kumar, Bablu ji, Zuber Alam, Arun Singh, Ramakant Singha, Suman Kumari, Rajiv Ranjan, Dhananjay Kumar, Ajit Kumar, Kanhaiya Yadav, Shiv Bhaja Yadav, Satya Prakash Yadav, Upasana Kumari, Sanjeev Kumar, Alok Kumar, Laxman Chaudhary, Sunil Kumar, Manoranjan Prasad, Vinod Prasad, Aditya Singh, Neelam Kumari participated in the demonstration.
