ARA----------------------------In the monsoon session of Lok Sabha, MP Sudama Prasad raised the issue of developing Jagdishpur Fort as a national heritage, Babu Kunwar Singh's Haveli as a tourist destination in Lok Sabha.

He said that I want to draw attention to an important historical issue related to Jagdishpur in Bhojpur district of Bihar. This area is associated with Babu Kunwar Singh, the hero of the first freedom struggle of 1857, who showed unparalleled bravery and leadership in defeating the British rule. Even today his contribution is remembered as a source of inspiration for the freedom struggle across the country.

1. Babu Kunwar Singh's Haveli, which could have become a major tourist destination, has been in a dilapidated state for a long time and is on the verge of destruction due to lack of conservation.

2. Jagdishpur Fort has not been given the status of national heritage yet, whereas its historical importance is of very high level.

3. No concrete action plan has been implemented so far for the renovation of his mansion and the historical underground tunnel from Jagdishpur to Ara.

4. Another Sainik School should be opened in Jagdishpur in the memory of Veer Kunwar Singh.

5. An entrance gate and his statue should be built in the name of Veer Kunwar Singh at Nayaka Tola.

By making Jagdishpur a central tourist destination, the local people there will develop as well as business will increase and the world will be introduced to the cultural heritage and arts.

He asked the central government to take immediate initiative to preserve these heritages so that this glorious history of Bihar gets respect. The above information was released in a press release by the MP's personal secretary Chandan Kumar.
