BHABHUA--------------------------Serious questions are being raised about the police's working style; the dog squad and forensic investigation team have failed in most of the theft incidents in the area. Growing incidents of crime have angered the villagers.

In Ward No. 4 of Derwan Panchayat, under Kudra police station in Kaimur district, on Sunday morning, fearless thieves committed a theft, making off with millions in cash and jewelry worth approximately 10 lakhs. The local administration, dog squad, and forensic investigation team appear helpless. The incident took place at the house of Birbal Singh Yadav in Derwan village, where the joy of his daughter's wedding has turned into sorrow and anxiety. The thieves cleverly stole millions of rupees in cash, gold and silver ornaments worth approximately 10 lakh rupees, and valuable clothes from the house. Surprisingly, despite the arrival of the dog squad and forensic investigation team in several theft incidents, the police have yet to make any arrests. Such incidents expose the shortcomings of police patrolling and security claims. According to information, wedding preparations were underway at Birbal Singh Yadav's house. On Saturday night, the entire family went to sleep after finishing their work. Around 2:00 AM, the thieves entered the house through the roof. The thieves first locked the doors of the rooms where the family members were sleeping from the outside. Not only that, they tied the doors securely with a cloth so that no one could get out. After that, the thieves comfortably ransacked the cupboards and boxes in the room and made off with the jewelry made for the wedding, along with the ornaments of other family members. The clever planning of the thieves can be gauged from the fact that they had already removed the LED bulbs installed around the house so that it would remain dark and their identities would not be revealed. In the morning, when family members tried to go outside and found the door locked, they raised an alarm, and neighbors helped them get out. The scene inside the house left everyone stunned.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Dial 112 and Kudra Station House Officer Nandhu Kumar arrived at the scene, but administrative officials appeared to be avoiding questions from media personnel. A dog squad and an FSL team were also called in to collect evidence, but even after hours of searching, the police found no clues. The Station House Officer tried to evade responsibility by asking the victim's family to submit a written application at the police station. The victim's family did submit an application, but now it remains to be seen whether, as usual, the police station will simply demand an application to brush the matter under the carpet, or if they will actually apprehend the thieves and take further action.

Local residents say that the increasing number of thefts in the area is due to the fact that most of the previous cases remain unsolved, and the police administration's inaction has emboldened the criminals. Meanwhile, on condition of anonymity, local watchmen said that they are assigned to duty with the 112 toll-free vehicle, which leaves them no time to patrol their own areas. Police patrolling seems to be limited to paperwork only. The victim, Birbal Singh Yadav, said that preparations for his daughter's wedding were in full swing. He had made jewelry with his life savings, which the thieves stole in one fell swoop. Now the family faces a major crisis regarding the wedding.
