PATNA---------------------------The incident at Shambhu Hostel in Patna is not just an isolated event, but a warning that reveals the grim reality of a widespread sex racket and sexual exploitation. The situation in Patna's so-called hostels and lodges is such that boys and girls live in close proximity, often on different floors of the same multi-story building. Luxury cars parked outside these hostels and lodges day and night have become a common sight.

Most shockingly, the CCTV cameras installed in these places function more like a sophisticated surveillance system. The operators keep a close watch on every activity of the girls, not for their safety, but to identify their vulnerabilities and exploit them for their own selfish purposes.

In the name of modernity, compromises are being made to fulfill increasing material desires, and hostel and lodge operators are exploiting these human weaknesses. The legal recognition of live-in relationships and consensual relationships between adults has also deeply wounded traditional Indian values.

Young people who come to Patna or other big cities from rural areas and district headquarters to study, and who live in hostels, lodges, or rented accommodations, often find themselves unable to adhere to restraint, traditions, and social norms. The lax supervision by parents and families leads to major and tragic consequences.

It is a deeply sad and painful truth that our collective boundaries are shrinking. It seems impossible to restore the changed social fabric to its former traditional values ​​through individual or small-scale efforts alone.

The time has come to initiate a comprehensive, profound, and intellectual revolution to save and preserve our culture and values, otherwise, future generations will be forced to pay a heavy price.
