OUTRAGE OVER DEATH AT SADAR HOSPITAL, ROAD BLOCKED

BUXAR----------------------After the death of a woman during treatment at the Sadar Hospital in Buxar district, her family members accused the doctors of gross negligence and blocked the Sasaram-Buxar main road. The incident, which occurred late at night, created a tense atmosphere in the hospital premises and the surrounding area. The enraged family members placed hospital stretchers, benches from nearby shops, and other items on the road, completely blocking the traffic, and staged a sit-in protest.

Rajesh Kumar Singh, the husband of the deceased and a resident of Tiyara village in the Rajpur police station area, who was among those blocking the road, said that in the night around 11 pm, his wife, Devanti Devi (27 years old), suddenly started vomiting and had continuous diarrhea. When her condition worsened, he took her to the Sadar Hospital. Dr. Saraswati Chandra Mishra, who was on duty in the emergency ward, conducted a preliminary examination and gave a prescription to the assisting staff.

According to Rajesh Singh, the staff administered one injection as per the prescription, and after some time, another injection was given. After this, his wife's condition deteriorated further. He alleged that despite this, the doctor did not examine her properly again and advised them to take the patient elsewhere. During this time, his wife died.

The deceased's husband emotionally stated that he has three young children and his wife's death was entirely due to the negligence of the doctors. He said that if proper treatment had been given on time, his wife's life could have been saved. After the incident, the family members became enraged and blocked the main road in front of the hospital.

The family members clearly stated that they would not move from the road until action is taken against the guilty doctors. Given the tense situation, the concerned doctor has reportedly left the hospital.

Upon receiving the information, the city police arrived at the spot and tried to pacify the family members. City Police Station SHO Manoj Kumar said that they have spoken to the family members and requested them to allow the body to be sent for post-mortem examination so that the actual cause of death can be investigated. He said that further action will be taken according to the law based on the investigation report. Currently, traffic is completely blocked on the Sasaram-Buxar main road due to a road blockade, causing significant inconvenience to commuters and patients. The administration is working to control the situation and restore traffic flow as quickly as possible.
