ARA------------------------As part of an effort to make women economically self-reliant, a special campaign has been launched by Kiran Upadhyay, the chairperson of the Piro Municipal Council. Under this initiative, on Friday, she formally inaugurated two centers named Kiran-Manoj Upadhyay Sewing and Embroidery Centers in Sambhal Tola, Ward No. 1, and Balua Tola, Ward No. 9, of Piro town. The chairperson has provided five sewing machines to each of these centers from her personal funds. Speaking at the inauguration of the sewing and embroidery centers, the chairperson said that until women become economically self-reliant and strong, talk of their empowerment will be meaningless. Especially in the present times, when the expenses of a family cannot be met by the earnings of only one member, it is very important for women to be economically independent. She said that they want women to not have to depend on male family members for small expenses. This initiative has been taken to give concrete shape to this idea. There are plans to operate such centers in all the wards of the city in the future. Through these centers, more and more women in the wards will be able to receive free training and become economically self-reliant. JDU State General Secretary Manoj Upadhyay, Vikas Pandey, Bhola Tiwari, and the respective ward councilors, along with several other dignitaries, were present at the inauguration of the sewing and embroidery centers.
