The road accident near Rohinibhan village in the Rajpur police station area on the Chausa-Mohania main road has now claimed not three, but four lives. Ritesh Kumar (20), a resident of Banarpur village, who was seriously injured in this tragic accident, also succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital. As soon as the news of his death reached the village before he could reach the Varanasi Trauma Center, his family members were devastated with grief. A pall of gloom and silence descended over the entire Banarpur village. Ritesh was the younger son of farmer Banshidhar Singh and was preparing for his intermediate examinations. The youngest of two brothers, Ritesh was considered the hope of his family.

After the accident, he and Rupesh Kumar were first taken to Buxar Sadar Hospital, from where, seeing their critical condition, both were referred to a higher center. But fate had other plans. Ritesh died on the way, while Rupesh's condition remains critical. According to eyewitnesses, Suryadev Kumar of Banarpur village had left home to get sand and gravel. He had borrowed a motorcycle from his neighbor for just a few minutes. His friends were also riding with him on the motorcycle. During this time, near Rohinibhan, there was a head-on collision with another motorcycle coming from the opposite direction at high speed.

The collision was so severe that Suryadev Kumar and Saif Ali, a resident of Chades village, died on the spot. The third young man, Upendra Prajapati, succumbed to his injuries while being taken to the Sadar Hospital. Now, with Ritesh's death, this accident has claimed four lives. Four families have been devastated simultaneously. The parents' tears are unending, and the villagers are also stunned by this incident.

Mufassil police station in-charge Shambhu Bhagat said that the bodies have been handed over to the families after the post-mortem, and the causes of the accident are being investigated. This accident once again raises the question: will speeding and negligence ever be curbed, or will the roads continue to be graveyards for young people?
