ARA-----------------------------Taking an important step towards child protection, a 5-year-old girl was legally adopted by a couple on Wednesday in the presence of Bhojpur District Magistrate Tanay Sultania. The process was completed through the Special Adoption Institute, Bhojpur.

The girl was earlier living in the same institution. The adoptive couple applied through the website of the Central Adoption Authority (CARA) and completed all the legal formalities under the Adoption Rules 2022, after which the girl was handed over to her new family.

On this occasion, District Magistrate Sultania wished the girl a bright future and directed the new parents to ensure her proper care and protection. He described this act as an inspirational example of providing affection and protection to a child.

The Special Adoption Institute of the district provides shelter and nutrition to abandoned and destitute girl children in the age group of 0 to 6 years, as well as facilitates their legal adoption.

Deputy Development Commissioner Smt. Gunjan Singh, Assistant Director (Child Protection), and other concerned officers were present at the event.
