1146 LITRES OF IMFL RECOVERED FROM A CAR OF LOKPAL

BHABHUA-------------------------Durgawati police, on the basis of secret information, recovered a large quantity of alcohol from two luxury vehicles having Bihar Government and Bihar Government District Lokpal boards in Sawath village under the police station area and arrested two accused from the spot. Out of the two arrested accused, the first has been identified as Chandramev Mehta, a resident of village Karjain Bazar under police station Karjain of Supaul district, while the second accused has been identified as Dharmendra Kumar, a resident of village Sirsia under Bhairoganj police station of West Champaran district. According to the information, a black Scorpio on which Bihar Government was written, vehicle number BR 26W 8999, which had 578 liters of liquor and a white SUV on which Bihar Government District Lokpal Buxar was written, vehicle number BR 01PJ 1759, luxury vehicle with many branded liquor 567 liters, total amount of liquor from both the vehicles was 1146 liters of expensive liquor of different brands.

Both the accused were going towards Mohania in Bihar. In this sequence, Durgawati police station in-charge Girish Kumar and Anti-Liquor Task Force in-charge Vinay Kumar got secret information that a consignment of liquor was being taken to Bihar in some luxury vehicles. Both the joint officers took immediate action and started chasing both the vehicles. Seeing the police, both the smugglers got down their vehicles from NH 19 and started running through the over bridge through Sawath village. During this, the police surrounded them in village Sawath and caught them. When the vehicles were searched, a large quantity of liquor was found in both the vehicles, after which the police seized both the vehicles and started further action. In this regard, SHO Girish Kumar said that 1146 liters of liquor has been recovered from two luxury vehicles. Boards of Bihar Government and Bihar Government District Lokpal are also installed on both the vehicles. Both the vehicles have been seized and further action is being taken against both the accused.
