ARA---------------------------A meeting of the empowered standing committee of the corporation was held in the auditorium of Ara Municipal Corporation on Tuesday, which was chaired by Mayor Indu Devi. In the meeting, repeated complaints were being received against the fare holders in the Municipal Corporation area, that instead of the prescribed amount of 15 rupees, 25 and 30 rupees are being charged for tempo.

More money than the prescribed rate is being charged for buses and other mini vehicles at the bus stand, Bihari Mill, Old Police Line and Gangi. Tempo drivers were beaten up at the station tempo stand, due to which a strike was carried out by the tempo drivers a few days ago.

Today, in the meeting of the empowered standing committee, it was decided that on receiving further complaints, the license of the fare holders will be cancelled and their deposit amount will be confiscated. Dustbins will be purchased and installed in each ward and many cleaning materials will be purchased. A 101 feet national flag will be installed in Ramna Maidan.

LED screens will be installed at various marked locations in the city. A children's park and open gym will be constructed on the vacant plot next to the Tridanda Swami Temple in ward number 43.

Municipal commissioner Anju Kumari, sub-urban commissioner Komal Kumari, along with honorable members of the empowered standing committee, ward 6 councilor Malti Devi, ward 19 councilor Parasnath, ward number 21 councilor Dr. Jitendra, ward number 22 councilor Rekha Jain, ward number 40 councilor Rajiv alias Guddu ji were present in the meeting.
