ARA---------------------------In the tradition of glorious Purvanchal, a 10-day workshop on Indian folk culture and Bhojpuri language, art culture and traditional ritual songs and folk traditions was started with great ceremonially under the writing and direction of Arvind Chitransh, chief coordinator of International Bhojpuri Sangam India, keeping the Bhojpuri culture alive with the help of the general public. In which the workshop started under the patronage of Dr. Ram Narayan Tiwari, a renowned scholar and litterateur in the field of music Bhojpuri and English and with the cooperation of Dr. DN Pandey and Shivani Pandey, in-charge of Gandharva Musical Academy Ghazipur.
The workshop on traditional folk songs and folk drama includes about 50 people, especially Dr. Vidyanivas Pandey on harmonium, Shankar Jha on dholak, Ujjwal Dubey on tabla, singer Shivani Pandey, Shweta Bharti, Alka Gupta, Farheen Naz, Akanshu Vishwakarma, Kusum Bind, Vijay Vishwakarma, Deepak, Akash, Harsh, Aman, Sanju and Sukhnandan Mishra.
Dr. Ramnarayan Tiwari, a renowned scholar and litterateur of Bhojpuri and English, said that it is a very commendable work of the chief coordinator Arvind Chitransh, who has been organizing international conferences for the last 30 years for the all-round development of Indian folk culture and Bhojpuri language, literature and art culture, to keep organizing presentation workshops and events in the entire Purvanchal as well as in the country and abroad. International Seminar on Reinvention of Folk Traditions, Tribal and Bhojpuri Culture of India and Abroad and Bhojpuri Festival organized by Dr. Raj Narayan Tiwari, an expert on Bhojpuri culture for researchers is being organized at Ghazipur on 23/24 August 2025. Bhojpuri language speakers have a strong presence in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and parts of Nepal in keeping folk traditions alive. They are also established as diaspora communities in Mauritius, Suriname, Fiji, Trinidad and Tobago and Caribbean countries.
