Teachers are the inspiration of the Prime Minister’s ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ and ‘Amritkaal’ vision: Gupta

New Delhi (RNI) Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta has said that teachers are the true inspiration behind the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ and ‘Amritkaal.’

Mr. Gupta was speaking as the chief guest at a program organized on the occasion of Teachers’ Day yesterday. Paying heartfelt tributes to former President, great philosopher, and eminent educationist Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan on his 137th birth anniversary, he recalled that when students expressed their desire to celebrate Dr. Radhakrishnan’s birthday, he humbly requested that it be observed as Teachers’ Day. Today, this day is celebrated across the country with deep respect and reverence for teachers.

He said that the life of Dr. Radhakrishnan teaches us that teachers impart not only knowledge but also values, discipline, and a lifelong commitment to truth. Mr. Gupta also highlighted the inspirational legacy of Mahamana Madan Mohan Malaviya, whose vision of education was not limited to literacy alone but also encompassed character-building and moral strength.

As the founder of Banaras Hindu University and a great national leader, Malaviya Ji regarded education as the foundation for social and cultural renaissance. Mr. Gupta described knowledge, service, and culture as the basic pillars of a strong society.

He further said, From ancient Gurukuls to modern classrooms, the Guru-Shishya tradition has been the soul of Indian civilization. Teachers do not just prepare students for examinations but for life itself—nurturing curiosity, creativity, discipline, and compassion within them. L.S.
