SDM INSPECTED THE FLOOD AFFECTED AREAS

ARA-----------------------As per the instructions of District Magistrate Tanay Sultania, Sub-Divisional Officer Jagdishpur Sanjit Kumar conducted a detailed inspection of the flood affected areas of Shahpur block. During the inspection, Damodarpur, Jawainia, Shyam Baba's Dera, Tikapur Dam, Lachhu Tola, Gaura and other affected places were visited and the relief work going on there was reviewed comprehensively. The fulfillment of the immediate needs of the affected people, the speed of relief work and the quality of food were examined.

Sub-Divisional Officer Sanjit Kumar closely reviewed the various relief efforts going on. These included the operation of community kitchens, it was seen whether the quality and quantity of food was satisfactory or not, and whether the food was reaching the needy people on time or not. Along with this, the distribution of polythene sheets was also inspected..

The safety of livestock and the availability of fodder for them remains a major concern during floods. The Sub-Divisional Officer reviewed the availability of fodder for animals in the flood-affected area so that animal husbandry is not affected and the livelihood of the farmers is safe. Along with this, attention was also paid to the functioning of hand pumps for the availability of drinking water. The toilet system was also inspected.

During the inspection, the SDM also checked the availability of medical facilities. Information was taken about primary health services, medicines, presence of medical team and referring system in case of emergency. Special emphasis was laid on the availability of milk and other nutritional materials for children. During the inspection, Rashmi Sagar, Circle Officer Shahpur and Rajesh Kumar, Block Panchayati Raj Officer Shahpur along with other related personnel were present.
