Sant Kabir's works are still relevant: Dr. Mishra

New Delhi (RNI) Renowned educationist Dr. B.N. Mishra has said that the works of the great Sant Kabir are still relevant and inspiring for the new generation.

Dr. Mishra, who came to participate in the "International Kabir Sant Sammelan" organized recently at the Rajendra Auditorium in the capital, said this during an interview. He said that the works that Sant Kabir wrote not only on religion but also on karma, economics and socialism 5-6 centuries ago, their relevance remains even in this materialistic age and by implementing it we can build a better society and nation.

Dr. Mishra, who translated the Gita Saar written by Lokmanya Tilak into English language, said that the Shrimad Bhagwat Gita had a complete influence on the works of Sant Kabir, but he made an incomparable contribution in taking it to the people in the language of the common man.

Dr. Mishra, who is an engineering professor by profession, said that Saint Kabir had said that "Sai, give me so much that my family is able to feed me, even I should not remain hungry and the saint should not go hungry." Religion, economics, karma and socialism are contained in this line in a holistic manner.

Dr. Mishra said that his compositions are so simple and in folk language that because of which hundreds of years ago majority of the people of the society got beneficial knowledge. This is the reason that the number of followers of Saint Kabir in the country and abroad is in crores. L.S.
