ARA------------------------------A mother and child died during delivery on Sunday evening at a private hospital located at Chandwa Mod in the Nawada police station area of Ara city. The deaths of the mother and child sparked outrage among their family members, who created a massive uproar at the private hospital.
During the uproar, they vandalized the hospital and damaged a car parked there. The incident created panic in the surrounding area. Upon receiving the information, Nawada Police Station Officer Bipin Bihari arrived with police force and pacified the family members.
According to reports, the deceased include Khushboo Kumari, the 27-year-old wife of CISF Inspector Rajesh Kumar, a resident of Bampali village in the Gajrajganj OP area, and their newborn son.
The deceased's brother-in-law, Pankaj Kumar, stated that his sister-in-law, Khushboo Kumari, experienced labor pains on Sunday morning. They brought her to a private hospital at Chandwa Mod for delivery on Sunday afternoon around 12 noon. She was perfectly fine at the time.
They explained that people from the village work at the same clinic, so they thought they would provide a good response and proper treatment. After some time, the staff informed them that the baby was stuck. They then said the baby had died.
A little while later, her sister-in-law's health deteriorated significantly, and they told her they needed blood. The family donated blood and paid 55,000 rupees to the hospital. Meanwhile, her sister-in-law also died. When the family checked the ICU, they found no doctor present; only nursing staff were present.
On the other hand, the deceased woman's brother-in-law, Pankaj Kumar, has alleged that the delivery was conducted without a doctor and negligence in treatment led to the death of his sister-in-law and her newborn nephew. However, the police are investigating the matter on their own.
It is reported that the deceased was married on December 8, 2020. She has a son, Naitik Kumar, who is three and a half years old. The deceased's husband is a sub-inspector in the CISF and currently posted at Kolkata Airport. The incident has left the deceased's home in a state of chaos. Her family is inconsolable.
