DELHI------------------------------An unknown assailant shot and killed a young man in a cafe in the Maujpur area of North-East Delhi late Friday night, police said. The incident reportedly took place at 11:28 pm in a cafe in the Welcome area. Police have promptly launched an investigation into the matter. The incident has created an atmosphere of fear in the area, and local residents are expressing anger over the law and order situation.
According to the police, the Welcome police station received information about the firing at around 11:28 pm on Friday night. Upon receiving the information, a police team reached the spot, where a young man was found lying injured inside the cafe. The injured man was identified as Faizan alias Fajji (24), son of Sehroz Alam, a resident of JMC Welcome. Police immediately rushed him to GTB Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the crime team and forensic team were called to the spot. The forensic team has collected important evidence from the crime scene. Police have taken the body into custody and kept it safely in the mortuary of GTB Hospital for post-mortem. DCP of North-East district, Ashish Mishra, said that a case of murder has been registered in this matter and an investigation has been started. He said that the cafe staff is being questioned and the footage from the CCTV cameras installed in the vicinity is being examined to identify the attackers.
Several police teams are searching for the accused and they will be arrested soon. There is widespread anger among the people of the area after this incident. Local residents say that criminal incidents are constantly increasing in Welcome and surrounding areas. They allege that incidents of firing, robbery, and fights are reported almost daily, but despite this, criminals show no fear of the police.

Upon reaching the spot at 'Mr. King Lounge and Cafe' in Maujpur, a wounded person, Faizan @ Fajji (24 years old), son of Seharoz Alam, a resident of JMC Welcome, was found. He was immediately taken to GTB Hospital."
People questioned what guarantee of safety ordinary citizens have when criminals are openly carrying out shootings and murders even before a major national event like Republic Day. Currently, the police are investigating the case from all angles. They are also investigating whether the murder was due to an old rivalry, a personal dispute, or some other reason. The police claim that the case will be solved soon and the accused will be put behind bars.
Meanwhile, the deceased's brother, Salman, said that on Friday night at 8:30 PM, Faizan had gone to his friend's cafe, where he was shot three times; one bullet hit him in the head, while two bullets hit him in the chest. According to Salman, Faizan was murdered due to a dispute over money. The accused had borrowed approximately 30,000 rupees from Faizan and was not returning it, which led to the dispute between them. The accused had also attacked Faizan before, and a complaint had been filed at the Bhajanpura police station regarding that incident.
