SASARAM----------------------------As soon as train number 12312 Netaji Express stopped at platform number 3 of Sasaram railway station in the district headquarters, the RPF started searching the train. During the search, 311 live turtles were recovered from a sack hidden under a seat in a general coach. The turtles were found abandoned, and their value in the open market is estimated at Rs. 3,11,000. In this regard, RPF Inspector-in-Charge Sanjeev Kumar said that late Saturday night, they received information that turtles were being smuggled on the Netaji Express. Acting swiftly on the information, a search was conducted as soon as the train stopped. A total of 311 live turtles were recovered during the search. During questioning of the passengers, it could not be ascertained who owned the turtles and where they were being taken. The inspector-in-charge said that the recovered turtles have been handed over to the Forest Department of Sasaram for their proper protection. According to the inspector-in-charge, RPF Sub-Inspector Dipendra Singh Ranawat, Assistant Sub-Inspector Dineshwar Ram, Constable Rakesh Kumar Kannojiya, Constable Vikas Kumar Singh, and Vimlesh Bharti were also part of the investigation team.
