MARRIED WOMAN MURDERED FOR DOWRY, HUSBAND ARRESTED

BHABHUA----------------------------A shocking case of a married woman being brutally murdered for dowry has come to light in Mahuari village of Sonhan police station area in the district. The deceased has been identified as Preeti Kumari, who was married to Devmuni Chauhan of Mahuari just a year ago. The police took swift action and arrested the accused husband within 12 hours of the incident.

According to the information received, Chandrajeet Chaudhary, a resident of Kuchila village under Kochas police station in Rohtas district, informed the Sonhan Station House Officer on the night of January 13 that his son-in-law, Devmuni Chauhan, had murdered his daughter, Preeti Kumari, at her in-laws' house for dowry. Upon receiving the information, the Station House Officer, along with the police force, reached Mahuari village, where the deceased's body was found lying on a bed in a room of the house. The police took the body into custody and sent it to Sadar Hospital, Bhabhua for post-mortem examination.

In this case, Sonhan Police Station Case No. 14/26 has been registered based on the application of the deceased's mother, Rinku Devi. Considering the seriousness of the matter, the police conducted raids and apprehended the main accused, the husband Devmuni Chauhan, within 12 hours. The Station House Officer said that the arrested accused is being produced before the Honorable Court today. The police are also conducting a thorough investigation into other aspects of the case.
