PATNA---------------------------Since November 2005, the Nitish government has been continuously working for the upliftment of all sections of society based on the principle of development with justice. Considering the entire Bihar as a family, the dignity of everyone has been taken care of. Now, emphasis is being placed on providing a dignified life to every section of society. At the same time, to ensure that the citizens of the state do not face any difficulties in commuting and have access to uninterrupted traffic facilities, the JP Gangapath in Patna is being further expanded.
JP Gangapath has become the lifeline of Patna today. It is making traffic smoother in Patna city. Its construction has facilitated traffic between the eastern and western parts of the city. Along with traffic, the government plans to comprehensively develop JP Gangapath from a tourism perspective as well. This will not only enhance the beauty of the city but also provide people with a new place to visit and spend relaxing moments. The arrival of tourists will increase economic activity here, which will create new employment opportunities for the youth.
Recently, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar visited JP Gangapath and reviewed the ongoing development projects there. He instructed the officials to expedite the landscaping, plantation, and beautification work being carried out on JP Gangapath. Calling it important from a tourism point of view, he said that since it is located on the banks of the Ganges River, it should be developed keeping in mind the safety and convenience of the people. Complete attention should be paid to providing tourist facilities here. During the development work, full attention should also be paid to road safety and uninterrupted traffic for the people on JP Gangapath. In the coming times, this area will become a center of attraction for people from a tourism perspective.
A Waste to Wonder theme park is being built near Bansghat along the JP Gangapath. In this park, artworks of prominent personalities of Bihar are being created from discarded iron and scrap. The Waste to Wonder theme park is being built in an area of approximately 10 acres between JP Gangapath and Dr. Rajendra Prasad's memorial. This park will present Bihar's glorious history and cultural heritage in a modern style. Here, you will find inspiring stories ranging from Aryabhata, Chanakya, and Emperor Ashoka to Loknayak JP and Dashrath Manjhi.
The Tourism Department is developing JP Gangapath as a tourist destination. Tourists visiting the area will now be taken around in a double-decker bus. Tourists will be given a tour along the banks of the Ganges from Digha Ghat to Kangan Ghat in a double-decker bus. The bus will take tourists to various tourist spots including JP Gangapath roundabout, Sabhyata Dwar, Darbhanga House, Mahendru Ghat, Gandhi Ghat, Law College Ghat, Mahatma Gandhi Setu, Chitragupta Temple, and Kangan Ghat. This 40-seater bus service has 20 comfortable seats on the upper open deck and 20 air-conditioned seats on the lower deck for tourists. It also has a washroom facility with a refrigerator. A guide will also be present on the bus to provide tourists with information about all the ghats and other historical tourist places in Patna. Tourists will be able to enjoy the views of the city and the Ganges River from the bus.
A new historical and cultural landscape is soon going to take shape on the banks of the Ganges in Patna. A grand memorial of Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan is being built in Dujra, adjacent to JP Gangapath, which will give it historical significance. The memorial of Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan is being developed in the Dujra area, south of JP Gangapath, near the memorial of Deshratna Dr. Rajendra Prasad. 1.75 acres of land have been earmarked for this, which also includes a part of the old Bansghat crematorium. This site will introduce the younger generation to the ideas of Jayaprakash Narayan in the future.
Landscaping and park development work is being done along JP Gangapath, which will make the area even more attractive. Grand archways are being built here. 15 arch gates, 25 feet high, are being constructed, each bearing a different name of the Ganges. 500 prefabricated shops are being set up for food courts and shopping. The area will be illuminated with architectural lighting. A 450-meter-long and 4.5-meter-wide jogging track is being constructed near JP Ganga Path, from Sabhyata Dwar to Collectorate Ghat, at a cost of Rs 12.38 crore. This will provide great convenience to morning walkers, tourists, and devotees during the Chhath Mahaparv festival.
In the long run, the beautification of JP Ganga Path will bring about a major transformation in the urban landscape. The Samadhi Sthal of Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan, the West to Wonder Theme Park, and the Ganga Path Integrated Garden – all these projects together will give a new identity to the banks of the Ganges. This area will not only become a center of devotion in the coming times but will also give Patna a new identity on the cultural and tourism map. Attracted by its natural beauty, people will want to settle in and around this area.
The development of JP Ganga Path will boost the tourism industry and benefit the city's residents. The completion of this project will enhance the beauty and attractiveness of the city. This will also create new employment opportunities and lead to economic progress.
