BHABHUA---------------------------Unknown thieves targeted a house in Dhawpokhar village under the Karamchat police station area of the block, stealing jewelry, valuable clothes, and cash worth lakhs of rupees. The incident took place at the house of Jawahir Pandey, a resident of the village. The family members discovered the theft around 5 am on Saturday morning when they woke up. The victim, Jawahir Pandey, said that after having dinner with his family, he went to sleep on the roof, while the women slept in the rooms downstairs. Upon waking up in the morning, they became suspicious when they saw the house door open. Upon investigation, it was discovered that the thieves had entered by breaking through a brick and cement cupboard (rack) at the back of the house. Before this, the thieves had also attempted to break through a 10-inch thick wall, but failing to do so, they targeted the thinner wall of the cupboard.

According to Jawahir Pandey, all the stolen items belonged to his daughter, Nidhi Pandey, who had been married a year ago and had come to her parental home with all her belongings a month earlier. The thieves stole 35 valuable sarees, 10 suits, and Rs 6,000 in cash from a purse, along with a gold mangalsutra, earrings, and a chain with a locket, all kept in three trolley bags. The total value of the stolen goods is estimated to be more than Rs 3 lakh.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Station House Officer Pankaj Kumar reached the spot with his police team and assessed the situation. An unknown thief's shawl was also recovered from behind the house. Considering the seriousness of the matter, a dog squad and a forensic team were called in. In the afternoon, the dog squad team attempted to find clues using the recovered shawl, which led the sniffer dog about 500 meters east of the house. The forensic team also collected evidence from the crime scene. In this regard, Station House Officer Pankaj Kumar stated that a complaint regarding the theft has been received and the police are conducting a thorough investigation into all aspects of the case. He claimed that the case would be solved and the thieves apprehended soon.
