SASARAM------------------------In a significant achievement aimed at giving new direction to higher education, research, innovation, and institutional development, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Gopal Narayan Singh University (GNSU), Jamuhar, Rohtas (Bihar) and YBN University, Ranchi (Jharkhand). The objective of this agreement is to strengthen and expand academic excellence, research, innovation, training, skill development, library and information services, and institutional cooperation between the two universities. The MoU was signed by Registrar Prof. (Dr.) Kumar Alok Pratap Singh on behalf of Gopal Narayan Singh University, Jamuhar, and Deputy Registrar Sanjay Tiwari on behalf of YBN University, Ranchi. Senior officials from both universities described this as a visionary and historic initiative in the field of higher education, stating that the partnership would elevate knowledge, research, and innovation-based collaboration between the two institutions to new heights and strengthen academic excellence at both national and global levels. Under this MoU, both universities will jointly promote research projects, faculty and student exchanges, national and international symposia, seminars, workshops, faculty development programs, training initiatives, innovation activities, startup and entrepreneurship development, joint publications, and skill-based education. Additionally, academic and research collaboration will be expanded across various disciplines, including Library and Information Science. The universities will share library resources—such as e-journals, digital repositories, and research theses—and jointly organize training sessions and workshops on topics like information literacy, research methodology, research ethics, and plagiarism.

Dr. Awadhesh Singh Gautam (Head of the Department of Library and Information Science, Gopal Narayan Singh University, Jamuhar) and Dr. Somnath Roy Chowdhury (Associate Professor and Training & Placement Officer, YBN University, Ranchi) played pivotal and active roles in bringing this significant academic collaboration to fruition. This agreement was successfully concluded thanks to the visionary approach, mutual coordination, continuous dialogue, and tireless efforts of both academicians. It was through their initiative that dialogue was established between the two universities, a framework for cooperation was drafted, and a long-term partnership across various academic and research domains was finalized.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Awadhesh Singh Gautam and Dr. Somnath Roy Chowdhury jointly stated that this agreement is not merely between two... The collaboration between the universities will not be limited to formal ties; instead, it will provide fresh momentum to joint research across various disciplines—including Library and Information Science—as well as faculty and student exchanges, national and international seminars, workshops, faculty development programs, innovation activities, skill development initiatives, and the shared use of knowledge resources. Confidence was expressed that this partnership would prove instrumental in effectively realizing the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and would play a pivotal role in establishing a distinct identity for both universities at national and international levels in the realms of academic excellence, research, and innovation. Senior officials from both universities expressed their belief that this MoU would create new opportunities for students, researchers, and faculty members in the areas of knowledge, research, innovation, skill development, and industry-academia collaboration. Furthermore, by fostering quality higher education, an excellent research culture, and institutional growth, this partnership will secure a strong identity for both universities within the national and global academic landscape. They hailed this initiative as a significant milestone towards long-term collaboration in the fields of education, research, and innovation.
