BUXAR---------------------------A tragic incident shook the community at the Dumraon railway station premises on Saturday afternoon. A middle-aged man, who had left home as usual, was found dead just hours later. His life was suddenly cut short, and his family's dreams were shattered in an instant. A crowd gathered at the station premises following the incident, and a somber atmosphere prevailed. According to reports, 55-year-old Harendra Chaudhary (alias Hunter)—son of the late Janak Chaudhary and a resident of Girdhari Gali in Ward No. 33 of the local municipal council—had arrived at the station premises on Saturday afternoon. He suddenly fell into a pit near a railway building currently under construction as part of the 'Amrit Bharat Yojana' near Panch Mandir.

Some time later, passersby noticed him lying unconscious. The Dumraon police were immediately informed, but he had already passed away. Once the deceased was identified, the police notified his family. Upon receiving the news, the family was plunged into grief. They rushed to the station, and their composure broke completely upon seeing Harendra's body. His wife, Durgavati Devi,

clung to her husband's body and wailed inconsolably. His daughter, Priti Kumari, and sons, Prakash Kumar (14) and Abhishek Kumar (16), were also devastated, weeping bitterly. The entire station premises was filled with the sounds of the family's wailing and grief. It is reported that Harendra Chaudhary used to work as a hand-pump mechanic. However, his family's financial situation had deteriorated over the last few years due to a slump in work. Out of necessity, he was somehow supporting his family by collecting and selling scrap.

He had left home after breakfast on Saturday morning, but no one knew that this would prove to be his final journey. According to accounts, Harendra was walking towards the railway station via the temple route when he suddenly fell ill and collapsed into a ditch. Preliminary examination revealed no signs of injury or a struggle on his body.

It is suspected that he died due to the intense heat, a sudden health issue, or a heart attack.

Confirming the incident, Dumraon Station House Officer (SHO) Sanjay Kumar Sinha stated that they received information about the sudden death of a middle-aged man within the station premises. The family has taken the body away. He noted that the family did not express any suspicion regarding the death, nor were they willing to have a post-mortem examination conducted. This incident has deprived the deceased's young children of their father's protective presence and their means of sustenance. A pall of gloom has descended upon Girdhari Gali following the sudden loss of the family's sole breadwinner.

Harendra's death has once again raised the question: no one knows which turn in the journey of life might prove to be the last.
