GSL Medical Launches NMC-Compliant MBBS Program in Uzbekistan for Indian Students

HYDERABAD AU 8 (RNI) In a transformative move for aspiring Indian medical students, GSL Medical Educational Institutions (India), in partnership with Impuls Medical Institute (Uzbekistan) and NEO Institute of Medical Sciences, has launched a first-of-its-kind Indian-equivalent MBBS program in Uzbekistan as per NMC (FMGL 2021) compliant.

With a severe shortage of MBBS seats in India, thousands of students look abroad for medical education. However, many foreign programs fail to align with India’s National Medical Commission (NMC) standards, often resulting in hurdles when graduates return home for registration and practice.

This newly launched program addresses that gap by offering a medical education model that is fully compliant with NMC’s FMGL Regulations 2021, covering course duration, curriculum structure, and internship. The program integrates qualified Indian faculty, a CBME-based curriculum, and region-specific clinical training, ensuring Indian students receive an education equivalent to that offered in India.

Many foreign medical institutes admit far beyond capacity, affecting education quality. This program will follow the NMC’s 150–250 seat quota to ensure standards equal to Indian medical colleges.

This program is a direct response to the NMC Alert Note dated 21 July 2025. It ensures Indian students studying abroad are not at risk of non-recognition by the NMC. With this structure, students can return to India with full eligibility for medical registration.”

Dr. Ganni Bhaskara Rao, Chairman, GSL Medical Education Institutions “Unlike short-term internships offered by most foreign universities, this course follows India’s structure of five years of academics and one year of paid internship. Additionally, students undergo supplementary one and half month intensive hands-on training each year at GSL Medical Educational Institutions in India, covering simulation-based learning, cadaver dissection, and Indian clinical exposure.”

Dr. Ganni Sandeep, Director, GSL Medical Education Institutions NEO, having guided over 15,000 Indian MBBS aspirants abroad, is proud to join this landmark initiative, offering NMC foundation training, FMGE/NEXT coaching, and support for USMLE, UKMLA, and AMC exams to open global PG opportunities. Through this colloboration, AIG will provide liver transplants and GSL Cancer Centre will provide oncological surgeries and fellowships at Impuls-affiliated hospitals in Namangan and Tashkent Regions, boosting healthcare expertise and training.
