BUXAR--------------------------The gang rape of a schoolgirl at gunpoint in a village in Kesath block of Buxar district has created an atmosphere of terror throughout the district. Dr. Ajit Kumar Singh, former MLA from Dumraon of the CPI (ML), strongly condemned the brutal incident, calling it a result of serious negligence on the part of the Bihar government and police administration. He said that this incident proves that criminals no longer fear the administration, leading to a growing sense of insecurity among girls and women.

Villagers erupted in protest in the morning. Around 9 a.m., angry villagers blocked the Mohania-Ara main road near Mahuari village. They began raising slogans demanding the safety of the victim's family, the immediate arrest of the culprits, and the death penalty for the accused. The national highway remained blocked for nearly five hours, causing long queues of vehicles. However, the villagers appealed to travelers for cooperation.

The road blockade was led by former MLA Dr. Ajit Kumar Singh. He described the incident as a brutal and ruthless act and raised serious questions about law and order. Dr. Ajit Singh demanded a speedy trial in this case and the perpetrators be given the harshest punishment possible, to prevent recurrence of such incidents.

Upon receiving information about the blockade, Dumraon MLA Rahul Singh, Superintendent of Police Shubham Arya, SDPO Polsat Kumar, along with station heads and police personnel from several police stations arrived at the scene. The officials assured the victim's family of justice, after which the blockade was cleared. During the meeting, Dumraon MLA Rahul Singh stated that the Bihar government has a zero-tolerance policy in such cases. The government stands with the victim's family and will provide all possible assistance. The culprits will not be spared under any circumstances. He spoke with senior police officers and directed them to take necessary and immediate action.

Former MLA Dr. Ajit Kumar Singh stated that this incident exposes the poor security arrangements for girls and women in Bihar. The government's security policies remain confined to paper. People in rural areas are forced to live in fear, and school-going girls feel unsafe. They demanded the immediate arrest of the accused, a trial in a fast-track court and the imposition of severe punishment, including death penalty, increased police patrolling in rural areas, the installation of CCTV cameras, and a widespread awareness campaign. The CPI(ML) has announced a continuation of the struggle on this issue.
