BHABHUA------------------------Taking major action regarding a viral video linked to the Kudra police station, the District Superintendent of Police (SP) has suspended Station House Officer (SHO) Nandu Kumar with immediate effect. The SHO faced allegations—stemming from photos and videos that went viral on social media—of facilitating the removal of sand via tractors from trucks seized at a yard in the Kudra police station area, as well as forcibly snatching a mobile phone from the person recording the video and deleting the footage.

Treating the matter seriously, the SP had ordered an immediate inquiry. The responsibility for the investigation was assigned to the Circle Police Inspector (Mohania) and the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Mohania. During the probe, the viral video and other facts were verified. In the investigation report submitted to the Superintendent of Police (SP) by the SDPO of Mohania, the conduct of Nandu Kumar, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Kudra, was found to be contrary to the law and suspicious. Based on the report, the SP has suspended him with immediate effect—placing him on a subsistence allowance—and designated the Police Lines in Bhabua as his headquarters.

A press release issued by the Kaimur SP's office stated that the Kaimur Police are committed to courteous behavior towards the public, transparency, and lawful action. Strict action will be taken against any police officer found acting in violation of rules or engaging in improper conduct.

This action has sparked intense discussion within the district's police department. The administration has sent a clear message that negligence in the discharge of duties or suspicious conduct will not be tolerated at any level, and that complaints will be investigated impartially, with necessary action taken against the guilty.
