NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam Concludes Smoothly Amid Tight Security Across India

New Delhi (RNI)  The National Testing Agency (NTA) successfully conducted the NEET UG 2026 re-examination on Sunday under stringent security arrangements across the country. More than 22.79 lakh candidates appeared for the highly anticipated medical entrance test, which was held from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM.

The re-exam was conducted under enhanced surveillance and strict monitoring to ensure transparency and fairness following the cancellation of the earlier examination held on May 3. Authorities implemented multiple security measures, including biometric authentication, intensive frisking at examination centers, and real-time surveillance to prevent any irregularities.

According to officials, the examination concluded peacefully without any major disruptions. Candidates were given an additional 15 minutes compared to the previous schedule, allowing them more time to complete the paper.

To facilitate smooth security checks, the NTA enforced a strict dress code for all candidates. Students were required to wear simple, light-colored clothing with half sleeves and were permitted only slippers or sandals with low heels. Full-sleeved garments, heavy clothing, shoes, large buttons, and accessories were prohibited. Candidates were also not allowed to wear jewelry such as rings, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, or other decorative items.

With the examination now over, student reactions and expert analysis of the question paper are expected to emerge soon. Educational experts and coaching institutes are likely to release detailed reviews regarding the difficulty level of the exam, expected cut-offs, and overall performance trends in the coming hours.

The successful conduct of the re-examination is being seen as a significant step toward restoring confidence in the country's premier medical entrance examination process.
